Bnos Yisroel is an outstanding Jewish School for girls ranging in ages from 4 to 17,
servicing the working class families of Flatbush and Madison in Brooklyn NY.
It is located on E15th street and Kings Highway and has existed
for about 30 years. The school has produced outstanding graduates
in years past, leaders in the community, the work force and at home.
Unfortunately, the working class families of the area cannot afford
to maintain the upkeep of the school and it's building. Teachers often
go unpaid for a week at a time, and retaining staff has at times been a
problem.
- Classroom space is sparse, and the school has begun to be over crowded.
Never the less, graduates of the school continue to excel in the community
as community leaders and teachers, in the home and in the work force.
- I would like to make a general appeal for this school.
The Sherry Israeloff foundation is dedicated to the welfare of B'nos and
the promise of a QUALITY Jewish education for each Jewish Boy and Girl,
regardless of financial standing. Currently, We are trying to raise $10,000
for the current school year. This is enough to, B'H, keep the school in
the black. Sapphire Software will give a gift of an Alef to Tav computer
game to any family making a $150.00 donation or more to B'nos through
the Sherry Israeloff foundation. Help give a Jewish child the education
they deserve.
- Checks can be made payable to Congregation Marpel Lenefesh
at 913 E26th Street Brooklyn NY. Rabbi Schmuel Zev Friedman can
be contacted at 1-718-258-6239 or 1-718-253-0964.
